IPL 2020 may play on September end as asked by BCCI

IPL 2020 : IPL Governing Council chairman declares, “IPL 2020 in Sep-Oct”

The IPL was postponed indefinitely after a lockdown to contain the COVID-19 pandemic came into force in March. There is still no clarity on whether it will be held this year, but there seems to be a likely window in October-November due to the uncertainty surrounding the Twenty20 World Cup.

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly declared to its state units that the board will conduct the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, even if it is to be organized without the crowds. Brijesh Patel(IPL governing council chairman) has gone one step ahead to declare the window for the IPL 2020. According to Patel, IPL 2020 will be organized in the month of September – October.

Speaking to TOI on Thursday, Patelji said: “We are ready to go ahead with the IPL. But we can start planning the schedule formally only after the official announcement is made on the T20 World Cup, which I’m expecting will arrive anytime soon. On our part, we’ve already earmarked the September-October window for the tournament to be played.”
